Dream description

Technology has taken over our world and soon, we can’t live or do anything without it. It’s time for Africa to embrace it and make advancements in it to help solve the many challenges we face.

It is sad, that for every hundred homes, just 1 home has a computer and even with that the computer literacy is very low and this is one of the main reasons, Africa has not made any major progress in the area of Information Technology and it is prudent that a proclivity for knowledge in Information Technology be created.

My dream is to build up passion among children, teens and young adults to embrace Information Technology and choose careers in the IT field.

This can be achieved by helping distribute Micro-computers (Raspberry Pi) to homes and helping people to learn how to program at least one computer language because programming helps us to think critically and help to instruct computers to solve problems in our society.

Action plan

The action plan is to get a mobile tent (IT Village) and start the training by pulling all those who want to learn something about IT mainly computer programming. We would hold this training for a period of 4-6 days in each area we visit and donate the Micro-computer (Raspberry-Pi) to those people who have shown a great level of interest.

We would have a IT supervisor who has knowledge about IT and programming in each neighborhood we visit, to act as a mentor to those that we train. There would also be an official website with all the tutorials and help they will need in the learning process.

The Future Plan.
It is my dream that this will nurture the young ones and we would see to it that it just doesn’t fade away in the short term but then stretch into a long term dream. We would train as many people as we can so they can have knowledge about programming in IT, creating the next IT entrepreneurs in the the country and Africa as a whole.
